Meals are provided in an unhurried and relaxed atmosphere. For lunch and dinner we sit together in small groups of five or six children and two or more teachers. We do not use highchairs, the children sit at a small table. We believe that meal times should be an enjoyable experience for children and teachers alike and therefore we respect the child's own eating pace.

We provide well balanced nutritious meals for our children. We cook fresh hot meals for lunch which always include protein and vegetables. For morning and afternoon tea we provide a selection of sandwiches, home baking, cheese, fruit and crackers. We offer children water with all meals and at other times throughout the day. For children who stay for a later day we provide a second hot meal for dinner from 4.15pm.

The following meals are rotated weekly so that part-time children are provided with a variety of meals:

  • Day 1 – Tuna pasta with veges or salad.
  • Day 2 – Ham, Cheese and pineapple pizzas with salad.
  • Day 3 – Pumpkin risotto with chicken and veges.
  • Day 4 – Corn fritters with salad.
  • Day 5 – Cous cous, lamb and Veges.
  • Day 6 – Ham sandwiches and salad.
  • Day 7 – Pork and apple sausages, rice and salad.
  • Day 8 – Chicken, roasties and broccoli.
  • Day 9 – Hummus pita pockets with chicken and salad.
  • Day 10 – Pasta Bolognese and veges.

Please advise the Head Teacher of any special dietary requirements for your infant and we will ensure that they are provided for appropriately.
